Chas Snyder ’78 named Lehigh Valley Civil Engineer of the Year

snyderIn February, Chas Snyder ’78 was named Lehigh Valley Civil Engineer of the Year by the Lehigh Valley Section of American Society of Civil Engineers. Snyder is laboratory manager for Pennoni Associates Inc., Bethlehem.

Two major projects in his career were at Lafayette—the addition to Skillman Library and the Farinon College Center, both in the 1980s. Snyder serves as a plant inspecting engineer for National Ready Mix Concrete Association and as an examiner for technician certification programs of American Concrete Institute. He is active with Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers.

For more than 30 years, he has served as an officer of Lafayette Alumni of the Lehigh Valley, as president, treasurer, newsletter editor, and photographer. For more than 20 years, he has served Friends of Lafayette Basketball on the postgame reception committee. Snyder is the recipient of Greenip Class of 1944, Mayfield Class of 1909, D. Arthur Hatch Class of 1904, and Chapter Support Person awards from the Alumni Association.
