A NATIONAL SEARCH is under way to fill the newly created position of vice president for campus life and senior diversity officer. The creation of the post is part of a reorganization of the President’s Cabinet, the Division of Student Life, and the Office of the Dean of the College announced by President Daniel H. Weiss.
Reporting to the president and serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the vice president will be responsible for overseeing all areas of student life and for ensuring that access and diversity are at the center of campus-life considerations.
Leslie F. Muhlfelder ’81, vice president for human resources and general counsel, is chairing a search committee that includes faculty, staff, and students.
“The structure of the new vice presidency reflects the College’s commitment to integrating diversity and inclusiveness fully in the College’s deliberations and planning,” she says. “We’re looking for a dynamic individual who has the vision and management skills to move these considerations to the core of campus life and learning. It will be an unprecedented opportunity to direct and shape the student experience at Lafayette.”
The search committee invites the participation of alumni in identifying potential candidates who meet the qualifications. The position description is posted on the College’s web site. To submit a nomination, please contact the Office of Human Resources at poniatoj@lafayette.edu.
