Wine 3/9: A Coast-to-Coast Toast to Lafayette

ON MARCH 9, 1826, the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted the charter to establish Lafayette College. In recognition of this founding, the Office of Alumni Affairs has created “Wine 3/9,” an event set for March 9, 2011. Members of the Lafayette community on campus, around the country, and throughout the world are encouraged to gather for a toast to the College on that day.

“We have encouraged our alumni volunteers to plan events for their regional chapters,” says Sherri Jones, director of alumni affairs. About a dozen chapters already have reported that they plan to participate.
