This fall, Lafayette welcomed 11 new professors, bringing the College’s total to 213 full-time, tenure-track faculty members.
Six in this group are new positions, created as part of the goal in the strategic plan to increase the faculty by 20 percent—35 positions—and decrease the student-faculty ratio from 11:1 to 10:1. So far, 15 new positions have been filled. Two professors are specifically assigned to interdisciplinary programs in engineering studies and international affairs.
Faculty filling newly created positions include Robert Blunt, assistant professor of religious studies; Benjamin Cohen, assistant professor of engineering studies; Michael Feola, assistant professor of government and law; Rachel Goshgarian, assistant professor of history; Justin Hines, assistant professor of chemistry; and Angelika Von Wahl, associate professor of international affairs.
Also new are Nestor Armando Gil, assistant professor of art; Brett Hendrickson, assistant professor of religious studies; Jeffrey Liebner, assistant professor of mathematics; Lauren Myers, assistant professor of psychology; and Michael Nees, assistant professor of psychology.
