Sharkey ’06 Creates a “Lafayette” Homeroom
To turn around one of Philadelphia school district’s lowest performers–Young Scholars Frederick Douglass Charter School —each homeroom was given a college name to reinforce the message that “we are laser focused on our goal of getting our students ready for college,” says Farrell Sharkey ’06, a first-grade teacher there. She used items donated by the College to create a Lafayette environment.
