LAFAYETTE is partnering with WLVT Channel 39, the PBS affiliate in the Lehigh Valley, to produce a live, student-run election-night broadcast from the College’s Farinon Center.
At the time the magazine went to press, plans were set for the station to air the show to its 2.6 million viewers in the northeastern United States from 9 to 11 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6.
More than 100 students from a variety of majors are working on the broadcast, called “Fifty States of Grey,” which will feature up-to-the-minute information on the races for the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives.
Co-producers are Alison Dally ’13 and Austin Denesuk ’14; cohosts are Alexander Charchalis ’15 and Madeline Laskoski ’13. Co-directors are Tom Parsons ’15 and Jesse Ryan ’13.
“The team is working together to address hundreds of details. This practical experience requires students to become creative problem-solvers,” says organizer Mark Crain, Simon Professor of Political Economy and chair of policy studies.
