Ali Murphy Bruder ’97 captained the 1996 field hockey team to the Patriot League regular-season title. She was voted first-team All-League and All-Mid East three times each and was named third-team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Harvey Cohen ’40, a threeyear lacrosse captain, was high scorer in Pennsylvania in 1939 and a member of the 1939-40 All-Pennsylvania team. Also a varsity football and soccer player at Lafayette, he was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1988.
Don Lordan ’65 (right) was the top pitcher and hitter on the 1965 Leopard nine, which advanced to the College World Series and was ranked No. 9 nationally. He was named first-team All-League with 9 wins and 66 strikeouts on the mound and a .404 batting average.
The 1971-72 men’s basketball team’s memorable victory over Virginia in the National Invitation Tournament at Madison Square Garden is the sport’s only post-season win to date. The team won 21 games and lost only 6.
