New Faculty Arrive

This fall, Lafayette welcomes eight new professors, bringing the College’s total to 215 full-time, tenure-track faculty members. Over the past several years, the College has been working toward increasing the size of the permanent faculty by 20 percent and decreasing the student-to-faculty ratio from 11:1 to 10:1, one of the initiatives in its strategic plan.

Alexander Brown, assistant professor of mechanical engineering; Ph.D. and M.S., mechanical engineering, Penn State University.

Megan Fernandes, assistant professor of English; Ph.D. and M.A., English, U.C. Santa Barbara; M.F.A., poetry, Boston University.

Matthew Larsen, assistant professor of economics; Ph.D. and M.A., economics, U.C. Davis.

Michelle Tomaszycki, assistant professor of psychology; Ph.D. and M.A., psychology, Emory University.

Brent Utter, assistant professor of mechanical engineering; Ph.D. and M.S., mechanical engineering, University of Michigan.
