Additional research opportunities include:
- Research Assistants Pilot Program, launched 2010-11; students apply disciplinary skills to assist faculty with research but are not involved in research design
- David M. Nalven ’88 Summer Research Fellowship Fund, two students conduct field-based ecology research with a biology professor
- Lafayette Alumni Research Network (LEARN), neuroscience majors conduct research with alumni in the summer and receive a salary and housing expenses
- Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), students investigate unsolved problems in mathematics
- Senior engineering capstone design projects
- Mellon Scholars program, stipends for students to participate in interdisciplinary research related to environmental issues in off-campus locations during the summer
- National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenge Scholars Program, a curricular and co-curricular program designed to prepare students to solve challenges facing society
- Davis Projects for Peace Grants, students conduct grassroots projects during the summer
