Alumni Participation Rises
IN RECENT YEARS, the percentage of alumni who make a gift to the College has been steadily improving. In 2009-10, 34 percent of alumni gave. In 2010-11, 37 percent made a contribution, and in 2011-12, the College was supported by 38 percent of its alumni body.
Since the alumni participation rate is a statistic used by college-ranking guides to evaluate alumni satisfaction and is included in an institution’s overall score, it is important for Lafayette to continually improve. This performance will ensure that the College remains competitive when recruiting the best and brightest students.
The goal for 2012-13 is 40 percent. Classes that hit that mark last year are highlighted in the chart below. Thanks to the fund managers, fund agents, and donors who made that achievement possible.
For alumni in classes that didn’t quite reach 40 percent (or alumni in classes that exceeded 40 percent but want to do better), what can you do to help?
- Make a gift to the College. Your gift can be in any amount and can be directed to the area of the College or program that means the most to you, or it can remain unrestricted, which supports the College’s most immediate needs during the fiscal year.
- Encourage your friends to give. If you would like to volunteer as a class fund agent, contact the Annual Fund office.
