“I met Dr. Chavin during an externship my sophomore year. The experience inspired me to apply to MUSC’s summer undergraduate research program. I was not accepted because I could not get funding to do my research. When Dr. Chavin became aware of this, he found a way for me to work in his lab that summer. He guided me through the research process and always allowed my entrance into the operating room to witness liver transplants. I’ve been accepted into MUSC’s program for this summer, and he has agreed to allow me to return to his lab once again as an intern. Working in his lab has been the most enjoyable part of my undergraduate experience. He has consistently gone above and beyond in providing me with countless opportunities.”
