Tailback Ross Scheuerman ’15, who ran for a school record 304 yards and MVP honors in the 150th Lafayette-Lehigh game at Yankee Stadium, participated in the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine on Feb. 17-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.
NFL executives, coaching staffs, and player personnel departments from all 32 NFL teams attended the showcase, evaluating more than 300 of the nation’s top college football players eligible for the upcoming NFL draft. Scheuerman was up to the task, placing among the top 10 running backs in the 20-yard and 60-yard shuttle runs, three-cone drill, and broad jump.
Scheuerman, an economics major, appeared in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in mid-January, a nationally televised showcase in Carson, Calif.
One of the top running backs ever to don the maroon and white, Scheuerman churned out 3,504 rushing yards and 31 rushing touchdowns in four seasons, marks that place him third and fourth, respectively, at Lafayette. On Nov. 22, he hammered his name into Lafayette football lore forever, entertaining the sold-out crowd with a three-touchdown performance. The 45-carry showing garnered him The Sports Network FCS Offensive Player of the Week honors, was the top rushing performance by an FCS player in 2014, and set a Patriot League record for rushing
yards in a game.
