Pre-Law Advising: guidance and resources related to legal careers and law school applications
Mock Trial Team: students collaborate on legal arguments and exercise skills as defendants and plaintiffs in tournaments; learn about courtroom procedure
Forensics Society: students work individually to construct speeches and arguments and then compete in about 12 events during the year; deepen research skills and hone public speaking
Internships/Externships: in January 2014, extern hosts provided 49 opportunities for students to conduct short-term shadowing experiences in the legal field with litigators, lawyers, judges, and others; summer internships, many offered through alumni or parent connections
Courses: constitutional law, the Supreme Court, law and society, law and social movements, philosophy of law, legal anthropology, military responsibilities and ethics, technology advance and intellectual property, race, gender, and social issues in public policy, among others
Legal Hot Topics: alumni in the legal field return to campus to speak with students on relevant subjects
