Construction of the parking lot portion of the new $32 million Easton City Hall and transportation center on South Third Street is well under way. Mayor Sal Panto said the city hopes to move
in by summer 2015.
The first floor of the three-floor building will include a lobby area providing access to the new LANTA bus station on the north side, as well as about 7,500 square feet of commercial space on the south side. Municipal offices including the mayor’s suite, City Council, and public meeting rooms will be on the second and third floors.
The building is designed by Spillman Farmer Architects of Bethlehem.
For the past 17 years, city offices have been in the Alpha Building, a few blocks away. The city sold the building for $4 million to developer Mark Mulligan.
