On June 4, Steve Pryor ’71 received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Chemistry Council. Pryor, president of ExxonMobil Chemical Co., was honored during the annual ACC meeting in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The award is presented periodically to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary vision, guidance, and discipline, and who have made outstanding contributions in service to the ACC and the chemical industry. “Tonight’s recipient has set a standard for how we can operate with integrity, achieve success, and inspire others,” said ACC president and CEO Cal Dooley.
Pryor is vice chair of Lafayette’s Board of Trustees and chair of the capital campaign. He often gives lectures and visits with students on campus as well as sponsoring internships at his company. A biology graduate with an MBA from Harvard, he is a member of the ACC board of directors and chairs the global strategy committee.
