Spring 2025
Baseball was a fitting cover story for the spring issue of Lafayette magazine. David Buck ’86 spent nearly four decades working for the Philadelphia Phillies, most recently as executive vice president. In his profile, “An American pastime,” he talks about his career and the evolving business of baseball. Also in our pages is a visit to West Baltimore, where Gladstone “Fluney” Hutchinson found inspiration and improvement through the Economic Empowerment and Global Learning Project. Another feature draws Lafayette connections to a new documentary, Between the Mountain and the Sky. Elsewhere in the issue include articles about star Leopard sprinter Ida Moczerniuk ’27; a popular computer science course in which students recreate classic video games; an upcoming orchestral performance about the travels of the Marquis de Lafayette; and the Student Side Hustle community.
