CAROL ROWLANDS ’81, DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS since 1996, was appointed to a newly created position, associate dean of admissions and financial aid for operations and research, effective July 1.
“Carol is uniquely qualified to lead us in this critical area. She will provide leadership and strategic planning for the admissions operations unit, which is responsible for managing the flow of information and communication to students as they proceed through the system as prospects to applicants to admitted and enrolled students,” said Greg MacDonald, dean of admissions and financial aid. “I look forward to working even more closely with Carol as we take immediate action to build the applicant pool.”
John O’Keefe ’96 was named senior director of information technology services and now oversees administrative information systems as well as academic technology and network services. He reports to Neil J. McElroy, dean of libraries and information technology services, who has taken on an additional role as special assistant to President Daniel H. Weiss for information technology strategies.
“The alignment of the senior information technology officer, Neil McElroy, with the president’s office reflects our view of the strategic importance of information technology for the future of the College, and the new structure for our information technology operations will enable a more integrated approach to the management of IT campus-wide,” said Weiss and Wendy Hill, provost and dean of the faculty. O’Keefe had been director of academic technology and network services since 2005.
