First Women of Lafayette Reunion

THE COLLEGE’S CELEBRATION of the 40th year of coeducation will continue when women in the classes of 1972, 1973, and 1974 return to campus April 29 for the First Women of Lafayette Reunion. They will attend classes, including a special one just for them; experience excerpts from the production Hear Me Roar: First Among Men; enjoy lunch with a student panel sponsored by the Council of Lafayette Women; attend the dedication of the First Women of Lafayette Commemorative Quilt and cocktail hour; and dine with President Daniel H. Presented March 3-5, Hear Me Roar is an updated version of We Were Pioneers, a multimedia staged reading written and produced in 2003 by Amanda Roth ’04 and Kamaka Martin ’04 based on interviews with alumni from the 1960s and ’70s. Adapted by Michael O’Neill, director of theater, and Kelcie Mohr ’11 and directed by Kelly Hess ’08, Hear Me Roar includes much of the original material plus new interviews with faculty and staff members who were on campus in 1970 and with current students.
