KDR Alumni Give First Annual Fund Scholarship

IN 2011-12, THE COLLEGE awarded more than $35 million in financial aid.

Through a new Annual Fund program, alumni groups can pool their contributions over four years to provide an incoming student with financial support. The first scholarship of this kind has been funded by a group of 2004 Kappa Delta Rho alumni. The effort was led by Alex Karapetian ’04, co-chair of the Young Alumni Committee of the Alumni Association. “We want to ensure that KDR and all Greek organizations have a positive impact on the College,” he said.

These scholarships require a four-year commitment of at least $2,500 per year for young alumni groups and $5,000 per year for groups of alumni who graduated more than 10 years ago. They have the same impact on the student as endowed scholarship funds of $50,000 and $100,000 respectively. “We hope that more groups will come forward to fund similar scholarships,” says Brook Wolcott, assistant director of the Annual Fund.
