GREGORY V. MACDONALD JOINED the College in July as dean of admissions and financial aid, responsible for recruiting a diverse and well-qualified student body and enhancing Lafayette’s visibility and reputation across the United States and around the world.
MacDonald brings more than 17 years’ experience in undergraduate and graduate admissions. He had been executive director of admissions and administration at the University of Rochester’s William E. Simon Graduate School of Business since 2005. Before that, he served three years as director of undergraduate admissions at Rochester.
MacDonald reports to Wendy L. Hill, provost and dean of the faculty, and serves on the president’s senior staff. He succeeds Robert J. Massa, vice president for communications, who served as acting dean in 2009-10. He holds a bachelor of arts degree with honors from Carleton University and a master of science in higher education, with specialization in student affairs, from Syracuse University.
