Matthew Hyde joined the College as director of admissions July 1. He comes from Tufts University, where he had served as associate director of admissions since 2007.
“Matt brings a keen understanding of the liberal arts at the secondary and collegiate levels that will help him develop critical relationships with counselors and students in markets where Lafayette is not highly visible today,” says Greg MacDonald, dean of admissions and financial aid. “I expect him to be a key leader in expanding our applicant pool and shaping the admissions team in the years ahead.”
Hyde holds a master of education degree in higher education from Harvard University and a bachelor of arts degree from Bowdoin College. He succeeds Carol Rowlands ’81, the College’s director of admissions since 1998, who is now associate dean of admissions and financial aid for operations and research (see “New Roles for Carol Rowlands ’81 and John O’Keefe ’96,” Spring 2011).
