Nearly 1,200 alumni—600 married couples—found a sweet surprise in their mail on Feb. 14.
“You fell in love with Lafayette, then you fell in love with each other…Happy Valentine’s Day!”
The cards were sent by the Office of Alumni Relations.
“We loved the Lafayette valentine card! It brought back warm memories. We are proud to be Lafayette valentines,” says Sylvia Daniels Weaver ’75, a member of the Board of Trustees, who is married to George Weaver ’72. She adds that daughter Danielle ’07 and her husband, Stephen Gabriel ’07, are Lafayette valentines who married on June 11, 2011, during reunion weekend. “Pards make great bridesmaids!”
Bob ’83 and Vicki Minturn Mahr ’83 say, “Sending the Valentine’s Day card was brilliant.”
“The card was a lovely design and very sweet. It was a nice diversion from shoveling,” says Stephanie Hayes ’94, whose husband is Marc Gallagher ’93.
