In the newly created position of chief revenue officer at Condé Nast Entertainment, Lisa Valentino ’96 will drive income for the division that encompasses film, television programming, and a digital video network. The network was named one of the fastest growing video companies among comScore’s top 50 video properties.

Named to the “40 Under 40” list by Sports Business Journal, Valentino has also been recognized by CableFAX on their “Most Powerful Women in Cable” list.

Valentino says her years on College Hill prepared her well for a career in marketing and advertising sales.

“Lafayette provided a tremendous experience both from a learning perspective and a personal development standpoint. Marketing is all about being creative and easily able to articulate ideas and information with passion. My exposure to the arts, writing, and public speaking courses honed those skills for me.” She graduated with dual degrees in English and in art.

Lew Minter, retired director of the art department’s media lab, was a favorite teacher. “He was so accessible and passionate about drawing creativity out of students. Many of us often found ourselves painting and listening to music in his studio on Friday afternoons,” says Valentino, who was a striker on the varsity women’s soccer team and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Most recently, Valentino served as senior vice president of multimedia sales at ESPN, managing more than a billion dollars in revenue. Prior to that, she directed video ad sales for several content verticals at Yahoo.
