John Landis ’39 Honored

TRUSTEE EMERITUS John W. Landis ’39 was awarded the Alvin M. Weinberg Medal by the American Nuclear Society in recognition of his key role in the initiation of private industry’s involvement in nuclear power development. The award honors Landis for “his leadership of numerous pioneering nuclear projects; his chairmanship of key policy and advisory boards and committees; his significant contributions to nuclear education, training, standards, public understanding and international collaboration; and for the beneficial social and humanistic effects that resulted from these activities.” Landis, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, is only the sixth recipient of the award, which was established in 1995.
