A First: Study in North Korea

LAFAYETTE IS THE FIRST American college or university to offer a for-credit study program bringing students to North Korea. In a new course taught by Allison Alexy, assistant professor of anthropology and sociology, and Seo-Hyun Park, assistant professor of government and law, students will experience the cultures of North Korea, South Korea, and China from July 30 to August 15. Organized in conjunction with the Pyongyang Project, a nonprofit based in Beijing, the course will include several opportunities for Lafayette students to interact with students from Korean and Chinese universities.
